where'd you go?
Where'd you go
I miss you so
Seems like it's been forever
That you've been gone...

- Where'd You Go/M. Shinoda/Fort Minor: The Rising Tied
Today was a day well-spent, at least relatively better than days spent watching my roommates kill and get killed in DotA. The only thing useful i did probably was sleep, eat, learn the piano and practise a song on the guitar.
i FINALLY managed to meet up with hc. tuesday was but a lonely day in hostel due to unforeseen last minute changes. plan failed. anyway, chanced upon Fullerton's website today and discovered that chocolate buffet at The Courtyard is only available on friday and saturday evenings, 8.00 to 11.00 p.m. .Now, i shall not digress. Chicken rice at clementi. paul yeo's recommendation. value for money. too bad hc's sick, if not we could've gone for satay too =p. which reminds me i havnt had good satay for some time... must go get them when i return to kl or during church camp in port dickson. short meet-up, wished it was longer but she had to go. grr... lady luck's not on my side today and so my timing went astray. sigh. shall work on it next time especially when concerning important matters. i finished my 'hc' poem. removed the final stanza just for the suspense. the poem took me some nights to do, but sometimes sleep doesn't really matter now that exams are over.
in the evening, there was a BB gathering for my batch of seniors. i'm so glad joshua invited me to the bbq (barber - queue..haha) as i got to meet up with friends i havn't been seeing for 2 years! present today was oliver,joshua,soonhoe,jon.chan,xi-wern,kevin, tian.en, eugene,ian.goh,wilson.chew,alvin.toh,zhi.guang. cooking was a really fun time. oliver's mum kindly made us salad and a few other goodies too, not forgetting joshua's beehoon. after makan we sat around and chat and crack jokes. pure bliss. after that was a short session of worship and sharing each of our experiences, endeavours and giving thanks. last agenda of the day...DotA!!! used phantom assassin - my score was 19kills-1death. =) meeting russell.ang for crayfish hor fun tomorrow, yummy!
after these ae over, i wonder what everyone will do; where they will head to. feels like my time in singapore is finally up after four years studying here. it's like time to head back to base. planning to learn the art of baking from dad, so might start a side blog for new recipes and creations. most of my guy friends in singapore will be going to serve national service, friends at home are likely to be working. as for girls...i'll assume they'll be working/teaching. hopefully i can assimilate back to 1st KL BB. realised that i'm losing touch with a really good bunch of buddies that i know there, the place where which shaped many of my beliefs today. PESTA 2006 will be hed in KL, so i'll be looking forward to that too. in between my schedule i should squeeze time to learn further maths and also get my driving license! must aspire to be king of KL traffic - that's the challenge!
we only have so much time for ourselves, and we always try to pack it with activity. time is money they say. but relationships/friendships are priceless. i wonder if people ever do a self-check if they neglected people whom they love and people who care for them. sometimes i get the feeling of "it's now or never" with some friends, simple fact because there was no effort on either party to keep in touch and not lose sight of each other, despite literally not seeing each other. mum told me one drawback of going to singapore to study for me recently, that i do not have many friends whom i've known for long periods of time, simple fact because i do not make friends easily, rather i'm surrounded by more acquaintances than friends. one thing i learnt about myself is 2 years is too short for me to get to really know a person. some magically achieve this but i think it's an inherent part of me that i tend to go on the defensive, slowly releasing bits and crumbs of myself, and because of that also it's harder for people to really know me in a short period of time.
i guess i'll always be playing the time-game, patiently waiting for the proper moment to act. hope to improve my 'timing' over time.
